3D Printing Resources

Below is a list of free resources for Veterinary Professionals interested in 3D printing and for educational purposes. This includes ready to print/view 3D anatomy of standard and unusual cases in STL format, and other resources.

This is a community-led project for educational purposes - If you have a CT or CBCT scan of an interesting case, please gain appropriate owner consent (see below) and send me the DICOM and I will list your case here for the benefit of all. I can clean up the print and add a hinge if required. As a thank you, I can provide a small print of your model.

Owner consent is obligatory with the above form or similar wording

This article https://www.nature.com/articles/s41597-024-03572-x provides free CT scans of over 400 dogs, cats and wildlife. Note, they are in nii.gz format which you need 3D Slicer to view/convert

You can download directly from their link here: https://nc.elte.hu/s/doZnwPjgeBaZ7as (under “Skull Volumes”), but to navigate it you need the table of contents from here: https://static-content.springer.com/esm/art%3A10.1038%2Fs41597-024-03572-x/MediaObjects/41597_2024_3572_MOESM2_ESM.xlsx
